What Is Experiential Learning?
Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience and is both an active and reflective process. Experiential learning focuses on gaining knowledge firsthand instead of simply hearing or reading about a topic. With ELA we make sure that people have access to the most impactful and productive experiential learning opportunities. We have run a variety of projects for universities, schools and also volunteer groups.
Education Projects
One of our largest projects is MOEI - a volunteer English Teaching program. Education is one of the best tools for people to break down any barriers that may be holding them back. Volunteer teachers, with ELA’s guidance, can empower the next generation.
Health Projects
Effective health projects can have a major impact on communities. We have worked with both volunteer dentists and midwives on projects in Thailand. It is one of the best experiential learning projects that can be delivered. During covid we worked with Soap Cycling to deliver hygiene classes - together we also supplied soap to over 1,000 school children. Click play to see the project.
Building Projects
Sometimes the best way for people to help is to build much needed infrastructure for communities. The extra benefit is that local people are employed to carry out the work and (where possible) the materials are sourced from local vendors. Ideal for engineering faculties and also for groups who wish to donate to much needed projects. Our past projects include construction of schools, dormitories, washrooms and playgrounds.
